Evolution of Grand Theft Auto Game Series
Grand Theft Auto (GTA) is a popular game series developed by Rockstar Games. It started in 1997 with the release of the first GTA game, which had a 2D bird's-eye view perspective. The game allowed players to explore Liberty City, engage in criminal activities, and complete missions for rewards.
In 1999, GTA 2 was released, still maintaining the 2D visual style but introducing a new city called "Anywhere City" and adding improved mission mechanics.
The biggest change came in 2001 with the release of GTA III. This marked the shift to a 3D visual style, offering a third-person perspective. GTA III was released on various platforms, including PS2, Xbox, and PC.
Since then, the GTA series has continued to evolve. Notably, GTA V, released in 2013, featured impressive 3D graphics and became one of the best-selling video games of all time.
Rockstar Games recently confirmed the development of GTA 6, set to be released in 2025. A trailer for the game showcased stunning 3D visuals, indicating that GTA 6 will further enhance the graphical quality and realism of its predecessor.
