Redmi 13C 5G: Xiaomi's New Smartphone with 5G Connectivity
Xiaomi's sub-brand, Redmi, has launched the Redmi 13C 5G smartphone. It is a new model of the Redmi 13C 4G, which will soon be available in Indonesia. The Redmi 13C 5G supports 5G network connectivity, unlike the regular Redmi 13C that only supports 4G.
The two phones also differ in terms of their chipsets. The 5G variant is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6100 Plus chipset, while the Redmi 13C uses the Helio G85. The Redmi 13C 5G's chipset theoretically offers higher clock speeds up to 2.2 GHz compared to the Redmi 13C's 2 GHz.
Another difference is in the front camera aspect. The Redmi 13C 5G has a 5 MP front camera, which is smaller than its "regular" counterpart with an 8 MP front camera.
The rest of the specifications of the Redmi 13C 5G are almost identical to the Redmi 13C. The design of both phones is similar, featuring a punch-hole display. However, the camera module of the Redmi 13C 5G has a more minimalist design without the square frame found on the Redmi 13C.
The Redmi 13C 5G comes with a 6.74-inch LCD display with HD Plus resolution and a 90 Hz refresh rate. The display has a waterdrop notch to accommodate the front camera. The screen brightness is 450 nits, and it is protected by Gorilla Glass.
The smartphone is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6100 Plus SoC and is available in three RAM and storage options: 4/128 GB, 6/128 GB, and 8/256 GB. The storage can be expanded up to 1 TB using a microSD card.
In terms of cameras, the Redmi 13C 5G features a dual rear camera setup with a 50 MP main camera (f/1.8). The resolution of the second camera is not specified. It also has a 5 MP front camera that supports features such as palm shutter, HDR, and AI portrait mode.
The Redmi 13C 5G is equipped with a 5,000 mAh battery and supports USB-C port for charging with 18W fast charging. It runs on Android 13 operating system with MIUI 14 interface.
Other features of the Redmi 13C 5G include a 3.5 mm audio jack, Bluetooth 5.3, dual-band WiFi, side-mounted fingerprint scanner, AI face unlock, and 5G connectivity. The smartphone is also claimed to be splash-proof and dust-resistant.
The Redmi 13C 5G is available in Starlight Black, Startrail Green, and Startrail Silver colors in India. The prices are as follows:
- Redmi 13C 5G 4/128 GB - 10,999 rupees (approximately Rp 2 million)
- Redmi 13C 5G 6/128 GB - 12,499 rupees (approximately Rp 2.3 million)
- Redmi 13C 5G 8/256 GB - 14,499 rupees (approximately Rp 2.6 million)
It is unknown whether the Redmi 13C will be available in Indonesia. Xiaomi will launch the Redmi 13C in Indonesia today, but according to Xiaomi Indonesia's Instagram post, it will be the 4G version, not the 5G version.
