Nusantara Aims to Achieve Carbon Neutrality by 2045, Says Head of OIKN
The Head of the Indonesian Capital Authority (OIKN), Bambang Susantono, believes that Nusantara can become a city with zero or even negative carbon emissions by 2045. This was stated by Bambang after launching the Nusantara Regionally and Locally Determined Contribution (RLDC) document, a roadmap to encourage the contributions of Nusantara cities in achieving national climate targets. The RLDC focuses on five sectors: forestry and land use, energy, agriculture, waste management, and industry. The targets include reducing emissions by -1.1 million tons of carbon dioxide (MtCO2) by 2045, with more ambitious scenarios aiming for a further reduction of -1.6 MtCO2.
