Capcom Announces Dragon's Dogma 2, Sets Higher Price for the Game
Capcom, the Japanese gaming company, has announced its latest role-playing game (RPG) adventure, Dragon's Dogma 2. The game is scheduled to be released on March 22, 2024, and will be available on PlayStation 5 (PS5), Xbox Series X/S, and PC platforms.
Dragon's Dogma 2 will be priced at $70 USD for the standard edition, making it the first Capcom game to be sold at this price point. Previous Capcom games were priced below $70 USD. It is unclear why Capcom has chosen to set this higher price for Dragon's Dogma 2, but it may be related to the increasing development costs in the gaming industry.
Capcom's Chief Operating Officer, Haruhiro Tsujimoto, had mentioned earlier that current Capcom game prices were "too low." This aligns with the trend in the industry, where many companies have been pricing their latest AAA games at $70 USD or higher.
Despite the price increase, pre-orders for Dragon's Dogma 2 are already available on respective platform stores. The game is offered in two editions: Standard Edition priced at $70 USD and Deluxe Edition priced at $80 USD. Each edition comes with different bonuses.
Dragon's Dogma 2 is a sequel to the popular adventure game Dragon's Dogma, which was released on PlayStation 3 (PS3) and Xbox 360 in 2012.
