Xiaomi's New HyperOS Coming to More Devices
Xiaomi's latest user interface (UI), HyperOS, is currently only available on the Xiaomi 14 series. However, Xiaomi plans to expand the availability of HyperOS to more devices globally. At least nine Xiaomi devices are set to receive HyperOS, with these models currently undergoing global internal testing.
These devices mark the first smartphones and tablets to receive HyperOS after the Xiaomi 14 series. The nine Xiaomi devices include the Xiaomi 13 "regular," Xiaomi 13 Pro, Xiaomi 13 Ultra, Xiaomi 13T Pro, Xiaomi 13T, Xiaomi 12T Pro, Xiaomi 12T, Xiaomi 11T, and Xiaomi Pad 6.
Other Xiaomi smartphone models will also receive the new interface to replace MiUI. Some of these include the Xiaomi 12T Pro and Xiaomi 11T. It's not just smartphones; there are rumors of Xiaomi tablets, specifically the Xiaomi Pad 6, getting the HyperOS update as well.
The exact public release schedule is yet to be revealed, but here is the complete list of the first Xiaomi devices to receive HyperOS:
- Xiaomi 13
- Xiaomi 13 Pro
- Xiaomi 13 Ultra
- Xiaomi 13T Pro
- Xiaomi 13T
- Xiaomi 12T Pro
- Xiaomi 12T
- Xiaomi 11T
- Xiaomi Pad 6
Some of the smartphones listed above are officially sold in Indonesia, such as Xiaomi 11T, Xiaomi 12T, Xiaomi Pad 6, and the latest Xiaomi 13T. Since these devices are part of the global HyperOS testing, there's a possibility that users in Indonesia may also receive the new UI update.
In the future, HyperOS will be made available for other Xiaomi devices, including sub-brands like Poco and Redmi.
HyperOS and the Xiaomi 14 series were introduced in an event called "Leap Beyond the Moment" on October 26. HyperOS marks the retirement of MiUI, which had accompanied Xiaomi products and its sub-brands (Poco and Redmi) for over 13 years. Xiaomi states that HyperOS's core is based on Linux and Xiaomi's self-developed Vela system. The foundation of Xiaomi HyperOS supports over 200 processor platforms and more than 20 standard file systems, encompassing hundreds of device types and thousands of SKUs.
Thanks to this extensive support, HyperOS is claimed to work efficiently with devices, regardless of their RAM size. Xiaomi indicates that the range of compatible RAM sizes for HyperOS starts at a minimum of 64KB and goes up to a maximum of 24GB. Notably, Xiaomi HyperOS is lightweight as it occupies only 8.75 GB of the smartphone's firmware system.
