Xiaomi to Launch HyperOS Globally, Including Indonesia, in Q1 2024
Xiaomi's new user interface (UI), HyperOS, is set to go beyond the Chinese market and make its way to global users, including Indonesia. The global launch of the HyperOS interface is scheduled for the first quarter of 2024. HyperOS will bring a refreshed system application, improved interface performance, and several additional features.
Moreover, HyperOS will be built on top of Google Android 14, and it is expected to outperform its predecessor, as reported by GSM China.
Prior to this development, Xiaomi announced its plan to replace its well-known MIUI interface with HyperOS. This change will begin with their latest phone series, Xiaomi 14.
Xiaomi's founder and CEO, Lei Jun, shared this significant announcement on X (formerly Twitter). Jun revealed that HyperOS is the company's new interface. "Today marks a historic moment. After years of collective effort, our new operating system, #XiaomiHyperOS, will make its official debut with the #Xiaomi14Series," Jun tweeted on Tuesday (10/17).
HyperOS is Xiaomi's latest smartphone operating system, combining Android with their in-house developed Vela system. The underlying design of this OS has been "completely rewritten," and it lays the public foundation for the Internet of Everything for tens of billions of devices and connections in the future.
Previously, Xiaomi's phones used the MiUI operating system, an Android-based system that has supported the company's phones for 13 years. Currently, HyperOS 1.0 is being tested by Xiaomi engineers. Here is a list of Xiaomi phones and tablets that will receive the global version of HyperOS:
