ChatGPT, created by OpenAI, has now become even smarter. This artificial intelligence (AI) chatbot can read and analyze the content of PDF documents and various other file formats directly within the chat interface. This new feature allows users to request ChatGPT to summarize, answer specific or critical questions, and even generate visualizations such as graphs and charts based on the data within PDF files.

Prior to this update, users had to convert PDF files into text before inputting them into ChatGPT for processing.

According to reports from The Verge, this new feature is available to users who subscribe to ChatGPT Plus, which is priced at $20 per month. Subscribing to ChatGPT Plus grants users access to exclusive features, including priority access to the new and more advanced language model (LLM) GPT-4, which is smarter than the GPT-3.5 model used in the free version of ChatGPT. GPT-4 is known for its enhanced capabilities in detecting and explaining images.

ChatGPT Plus subscribers also enjoy benefits such as priority access during peak hours, faster response times, and access to new features that are quicker than those available to free users.

With this new feature, ChatGPT Plus users will see a notification window with the following message: "Upload various types of documents: You can analyze PDFs, data files, or any documents you want. Simply upload them and ask ChatGPT." It's worth noting that before trying this feature, users will need to opt for the "beta" option as document analysis is still in the testing phase.

ChatGPT Plus users can upload PDFs or other document formats to ChatGPT and then ask questions or give commands. According to Mashable, ChatGPT will be able to summarize and extract important points from the documents.

Additionally, ChatGPT now allows beta users who subscribe to ChatGPT Plus to access browsing mode, Advanced Data Analysis, and DALL-E automatically. Users won't need to manually adjust these options when providing text, images, or documents as ChatGPT will respond based on the context. However, manual mode selection is still available under the GPT-4 options.
