Twitter Stops Twitter Circle Feature, Users Express Concerns
Goodbye Twitter Circles. The microblogging platform Twitter has officially discontinued its "Twitter Circle" feature as of Tuesday, October 31, 2023. The removal of this feature was announced by the company on the Twitter Help page in September.
"Twitter is ending Circles as of October 31, 2023. After that date, you will not be able to create content that is only accessible to your Circle, nor can you add other users to your Circle," wrote Twitter.
The reason behind the closure of the Circles feature was not explained. However, based on speculation circulating on the internet, Twitter seems to be planning to make this feature a paid feature, similar to the previous TweetDeck.
TweetDeck is the official desktop streamreader or tweet manager from Twitter. Initially, TweetDeck could be accessed for free by all users. Then, in June 2023, the company required that only users who had badges or subscriptions could access the TweetDeck feature.
